We strive to meet the nutritional needs of each resident, whether short-term, long-term, or a registrant in our Adult Day Health Care program.
The LISVH offers a 3 week menu which rotates through a summer and winter cycle:
Residents, registrants and / or their families are interviewed by our Registered Dietitians. Individualized food preferences and physician orders are considered in the development of each individualized meal plan.
Quarterly menu committee meetings are held to discuss likes / dislikes with the residents as well as foods they wish to add or remove from the menus.
We offer food choices galore to accommodate each resident's preferences.
Special diets and food consistencies are always considered. For those Residents requiring specialized menus such as kosher, gluten free, or vegetarian, the department strives to provide a variety of food products to tempt the palate. Pre-prepared Kosher frozen meals are provided to those residents requesting Kosher meal service. Available gluten free products include muffins, rice cakes, French toast, waffles, pancakes, crackers, bread sticks and assorted cookies. Individualized vegetarian menus are completed with the Dietitian / Nutritionist to ensure adequate calories, carbohydrate, protein and fats are consumed.
